This is a special issue of PETERBURG CONSTRUCTION MARKET magazine dedicated to International exhibition on protection and restoration of monuments, preservation and reconstruction of the historic centers in cities all over the world – denkmal 2002. In Saint - Petersburg, which will celebrate its 300th anniversary in 2003, much attention is being paid at the problems of preservation of cultural and architectural heritage and the works of art. Of course it is impossible for the only issue to cover the whole range of restoration and reconstruction works kept in St.- Petersburg nowadays, but we hope that our edition will help the participants and guests of the exhibition evaluate the contribution made by St. Petersburg firms to preservation of the historical heritage!
